The 11:20 show for Transformers was sold out before 11 so we scrapped that idea pretty quickly. We're going to try catching it when we're home next weekend. We'll be super busy though, so I won't hold my breath.
The movie theater was right across from a Wal-Mart so we ran in there to get a replacement part for our toilet upstairs - don't ask. It looked like a nice new Wal-Mart from the outside, but inside it was just like the ancient one back home.
After that it was off to get Brian measured. The lovely lady at Men's Wearhouse took care of us even though they "aren't required to do outside measurements". I knew we shoulda just gone to some hole in the wall place around here. Oh well, we got it done.
Finally we hit up Cracker Barrel right at peak lunch time. We slightly beat the rush so we didn't have to wait more than 10 minutes. Lunch was yummy and we picked up a few things in the gift shop. I invested in a nice cast-iron skillet that I can't wait to break in after I get back after the wedding. We also got a couple bags of candy - sour gummy worms for me YUM! I always love walking around Cracker Barrel...so many cute things.
On our way back home we had to go through the airport in Alexandria or old England Air Force Base if you're an AF brat like me. They still have a little airplane display area with 5 planes up int he air. I remember stopping there when I was a kid. I tend to miss the turn I need around there which makes me need to turn around in the parking lot near the planes. Since we were already there we figured we'd get out and take a look around. We were the only ones around. The center plane has a railing in front of it that was the perfect height to set my camera up on for an automatic picture. I wasn't sure how it would turn out but I was pleasantly surprised. It was ridiculously hot so we quickly walked around the 4 other planes and hopped back in the air-conditioned truck.
We really need to get away from this house more often on the weekends. If only it were a bit cooler...
While running errands today, we ran through the commissary really quick. Among the grocery items we picked up, we got Tiny a new green-headed duck. In a tug-o-war match with one of Brian's study buddies (more on that later) last week, Tiny's old green-headed duck was sorta kinda destroyed. So, he obviously needed a replacement!
We brought the bags in the house and started putting the cold things away. We had our backs turned for a second and I heard the rustle of a plastic bag. I look through the little window hole-in-the-wall in the kitchen to see Tiny trotting into the living room with his freshly-killed (freshly-stolen-out-of-the-bag) duck. We got a good laugh out of it and he quickly came back in the kitchen so we could cut the tags off.
^^Tiny's new duck. These are for you, Mom! :) He misses you and can't wait to see you this weekend!
Now, about the study-buddy reference... Brian is smack-dab in the middle of this class. It's almost impossible for me to explain what this class is in a way that normal people would understand. The class is really intense. It was originally designed to take a month and they've condensed it into 8-9 days. He's in class everyday from 7:30 until 5:30 and then studying for hours every night. So far he's done well and should continue to do well. I'm very proud of him. One of his buddies came over 3 nights last week to study and so I could feed him. He says Tiny is our "moose" and refers to his stuffed rabbit toys as "bun-bun". It was this guy who helped Tiny destroy his old duck.
This week should be exciting around here. Brian will find out if he passed this class, my parents celebrate their 25th wedding anniversary on Tuesday, we have a nice change happening mid-week and we're heading home on Friday.
I really should write more often to avoid these marathon posts!
Now, I am going to veg on the couch watching my oh-so-wonderful Yankees on ESPN. *sigh*

HaHa! Tiny removed a toy from the grocery bag that I had just bought him when I was there. Remember? I think it was the blue lobster from Target.
Loved the pics. We did stop at England AFB on one of our driving trips to Disney World. I believe we have pictures of you and Keith by that same airplane from about 12years ago!
I'm watching the Yankee game as I type this. Top of the 9th. Sometimes I feel myself subconsciously rooting for the Mets. I would only admit that to you!
See you soon! Love you. M.
I love Cracker Barrel!!
Aww-- Tiny is so adorable, and smart ;)
Tell him your blogger-buds said good luck! I'm sure he'll pass, I just hope it doesn't stress him out TOO bad lol.
I'm so glad I have a friend who still blogs! Tiny is sooo not tiny LOL. I'm actually a little envious of Brian... I wish I were taking some sort of class. Is it lame that I miss studying and going to school??? I think we were just good at that. Anyhow, can't wait to see you! The big day is coming soon!
PS. You must make an effort to see Transformers. It is well worth it, particularly for seeing Shia Labeouf =)
