Brian called today. We talked for almost 40 minutes. I'm not sure when the last time was that we had that much time to talk. He said something about being gone for a year and I made sure to correct him and tell him it hasn't been a year but just over 10 months. I was sitting here thinking that over and it hit me. It has almost been 12 months since Brian left. It has almost been an entire year during which we spent a whopping 18 days together. I always focus on taking things one day at a time. All those one-day-at-a-time days have added up to 10+ months. I'm almost to the point that I'll let myself get a teensy bit excited about Brian's homecoming. Finally.
