Things I've Learned in the Last 36 Hours

Things I learned on my 8-hr drive yesterday:
1. You will run into a surprising amount of boat-hauling trucks in the pre-dawn hours on a Saturday in Louisiana.
2. People speed. Alot. I'm talking 80+ mph. The more expensive the car, the worse the speeding.

Things I learned at the gym this morning:
1. I can run 3/4 of a mile. (...with a 1/4 mile break after the first 1/2, but still!)
2. I have gained 2-5 pounds depending on what I count my weight as a few months ago. I am not happy about this.
3. I can still work out like I used to. That's encouraging.

Things I learned at the mall this afternoon:
1. No matter how fat I feel, I am still too small for the majority of women's clothes.
2. The more expensive the dress, the better it looks.
3. Give women a big 40% off sale at their favorite working/grandmotherly women store and there will be plenty of stink-eyes to go around about the lack of available dressing rooms and limited room to move.
4. When I tell a saleswoman that I need a dress for a shower (mine), she tries to send me to the juniors section. Do I look like a junior? And then she points out the sales rack. Do I look poor?

I made it to Texas. I arrived exhausted, but still managed to get to church and dinner with Mom. I miss Brian alot, but I know he's doing much better studying at home without me. This will be a crazy week for both of us for very different reasons. I'll try to keep this updated as things happen. Any thoughts and/or prayers would be appreciated, though.

Tonight I'm watching Cold Case and going to bed early so I can get up tomorrow and start on my to-do list. I hope everyone had a good weekend!

At least the people with the more expensive car can probably afford the more expensive ticket. Glad you made it okay.

People in Louisiana LOVE to speed. On I-10 it's almost ridiculous.
