I baby-sat this morning for the first time in over 7 years. It confirmed my belief that I am not ready for children of my own yet. There are absolutely not tugs toward motherhood. Children are just so tiring! I know that when they are your own it is also extremely rewarding, but good grief this morning was tiring! The girl is almost 4 and talks a million miles an hour, but I'm lucky if I understand 50% of what she is saying (articulation nightmare). The boy is about 1 and adorable, but kept rubbing his little chubby fists in his runny nose - lovely! The girl was also really bossy with the boy which required my intervention on more than one occasion. By 11 I was starving and ready to get back to my quiet house.
So rest assured there will not be the pitter-patter of little feet around this house any time soon.
There is an FRG meeting tonight that I am opting out of. Is it wrong to not want to go schmooze with a bunch of Army wives that I've never met before? I feel a tad bit guilty, but not enough to go.
Did you wear green today? I did! I'm not making corned beef and cabbage tonight, but I am going to go downstairs in a big to make Irish Soda Bread (recipe from my mom). For dinner we are having Ham and Cheese Foldover Sandwiches. It's easy dinner night around here after Sweet, Sticky, and Spicy Chicken last night (5 stars!).
Happy St. Patty's!
