When I was 5, I loved the New Kids on the Block. I was a bit young, but I nonetheless had the bed sheets, the watch, and the Jordan Knight doll (complete with braided rat tail). The new kids have always had a special place in my heart. In fact, when Napster first his the scene, I downloaded old NKOTB hits. I knew all the words. I still do. They have a greatest hits album out now and you can bet it will be mine by the end of the week. I'm still undecided about buying their new album, but I wouldn't be surprised if I end up with that one in my music library too. How often do your childhood idols and obsession get back together in your adulthood?? Their music sends me right back to an innocent 5 year old with no worries. Those songs evoke nothing but happy memories. I watch shows about NKOTB history and I was a part of that phenomenon. That is so weird to me. I didn't realize at the time how far they reached; how many people they touched. I definitely wasn't alone with worshipping the adorable Jordan Knight. They kick off their tour in Boston (their hometown) tonight and I hope they have a blast. If I knew another crazy NKOTB fan, I'd drag them with me to one of their TX dates. I love reminiscing!

I just got pictures from Aunt Sue from the David Cassidy/Davey Jones concert that she went to. They were great - crowds of 40-year-old women panting over 2 really old guys wearing tight pants. (But the guys really were still so cute!). So I know how you feel about NKOTB!!
