Looking Back: 2010

January

Brian was a groomsman in his sister's wedding.
I rescued the groom's wedding band from the dressing room mid-ceremony.

While we were home for my SIL's wedding, a pipe froze and burst in our laundry room.
This is the laundry room ceiling.

The entire first floor of our house flooded.
Our less-than-year-old living room furniture soaked up a bunch of water and started growing mold.

February

I made the best pulled BBQ pork with homemade BBQ sauce.
My mouth still waters thinking about it.

I put this shelf up on the bare wall in our half-bathroom downstairs.
I loved how it turned out.

March

Mom and Dad came to visit over Spring Break.
We visited a couple plantation homes.

And we walked along the river in Natchitoches, Louisiana.

My dad really wanted to try a meat pie.
Apparently this place also serves "delicious seafood soft serve".

Brian turned 23. We celebrated with this {homemade} cake.

April

Brian's parents visited. We went to the zoo in Alexandria, LA.

And saw this giant tortoise.

We took his parents to the bowling alley. Brian made funny faces.

We took Tiny on a number of walks behind our house.

May

This pretty sums up my tutoring/subbing experience:

June

I unearthed my old Mustang from the garage and gave her a good wash. Such a pretty car.

I was so excited to get my Eclipse toy in my BK happy meal!

July

I kissed a giant chicken at a restaurant back home.
Brian was back in LA training all month.

August

I started packing.

Brian got a surprise week of leave, so we went home.
We had a zoo date.

We made friends with this bear.

I turned 25 (eek!).

I went to the first high school football game of the season with my parents.

September

Weekend getaway #1: Lake Sam Rayburn, TX.

It was a bit of a hike to the water, but gorgeous nonetheless.

We excavated our wedding cake topper and dug in. No one got sick!

Weekend getaway #2: Toledo Bend Lake, TX.

My favorite picture of Tiny, ever!

How we spent our time: fishing, scrabbling, and word searching.

I attended Brian's deployment ceremony.

So handsome.

October

We had one more adventure at the Alexandria Zoo.

And we stayed up all night to say goodbye at 4AM.
(My favorite picture of Brian, ever!)

November

A lot happened in November...

I threw away a ton of stuff.

I packed more into our storage unit than I thought possible.

I said goodbye to our first home.

I hit the road heading back to TX.

I went to the last regular season high school football game in Midland. (We lost.)

I bundled up for the first playoff game at our home stadium. (We won.)

I wrote a big check to pay off our truck!

I went to the second playoff game in Lubbock. (We won!)

I said goodbye to the BEST dog in the world.

I walked a 5K in freezing wind with mom and brother on Thanksgiving morning.

We sent my brother back to NYC.

I went to the third playoff gave at Cowboys Stadium. (We lost.)

December

I picked up Tiny's urn from the vet's office.

I helped Dad put Christmas lights in the trees outside.

I laid in the sun by the pool on an 85 degree afternoon.

We welcomed Keith home.

We stuffed our faced at DQ on Christmas Eve Eve.

I opened a ton of presents on Christmas morning.

Here's to a wonderful 2011!
