Some family member of my MIL befriended me on facebook some time ago. I'm not sure why or how they are related.
She just facebook chatted me. The conversation so far is riveting. She seems to think I know (and care) who she is.
She also seems to think that I talk to my MIL on a regular basis and know details about her recent trip to England to visit this relative.
Generally I enjoy facebook. Right now? Not so much.
And just like that she is gone. So very odd.

LOL. I understand how you feel. I have cousins in the Philippines who often like to FB chat me. At least you don't have to deal with broken English and looong awkward pauses (due to the crappy island internet connection!) It's torture!
I feel strongly that in-laws shouldn't be allowed on facebook. I had an awkward chat of my own the other day... but I learned you can make lists and BLOCK them!! Hahaha!

That's exactly why I leave Facebook chat off for the majority of the time.
