Did you keep your new year's resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
Last year I wanted to make a true friend in OK, keep reading, pay off all of our debt, and exercise/lose weight. Making friends is always hard, but the first week of the school year delivered a crazy girl named Jamie into my life. She only worked at my school for a month, but we became fast friends and we eventually forced our husbands to like each other as well. I read something like 40 books this year (including a few 1500-page mammoths) so the reading thing is still going strong! I hoped to pay off our debt and was SO close, but then we went and bought Brian a new truck. Oops. He deserved it, though, and we hope to pay it off quickly. I threw the whole exercise/weight thing on there last year as an after thought. I didn't intentionally meet that goal, but I did end up back in the gym in May when our neighborhood center opened. I continued to exercise 3-4 times per week, lost 5ish pounds, and successfully completed a 5K without walking. Now, for 2014, what do I wish/hope for? I'll keep reading, I'm sure. I'd like to be better at my jobs of wife and speech therapist. I'd like to get a better handle on our finances. I'd also like to continue exercising and break a certain weight threshold that I will not publicize here (nothing crazy). There. That's good!
